Over the New Year holiday Aunt Karen, Uncle David and Cousin Genna came to visit. As if that were not exciting enough, we took an impromptu trip to Washington DC for New Year's Eve! We stayed at the Embassy Suites which was perfect, each family had its own room. The free evening snacks must have been really good because we had them for supper two nights in a row - and the second night we had already checked-out!
These are my cousins Brandon and Connor, Genna's brothers. They didn't get to come visit because Connor is five and Brandon is a teenage boy - they would have been bored.

A very nice family photo - and it was only 10:30 in the morning!

Get two kids under 16 together and out come the cameras.
A good picture of me.

A good picture of Genna.

Genna at the White House. Notice the piece of plywood to her left and the delivery truck to her upper right. The White House grounds and surrounding areas were bustling with activity to prepare for Obama's inauguration. The plywood was being used to make the inauguration podium. You should have seen the glass that was being installed around the podium - it was super duper thick!

Uncle David looking very touristy.

Aunt Karen looking very cold.

At the Smithsonian American History Museum I saw Oscar the Grouch. I am a fan of his song "I Love Trash". I saw Kermit the Frog too, but I know Oscar better.

Me and my two favorite people at the Reflecting Pool. You can also see the Washington Monument and the Capitol. Right after this photo was taken I took a nap. I was exhausted.

Genna at the Viet Nam memorial.

I don't know why Mommy was so excited about this sign. She said something about a hill called Aree?

On the way back to the hotel for free snacks and the drive home.
